The Right Story Books For Your Kids in the Winter Season

Winter season is fast approaching. There are many holidays and activities happen in the winter season, especially religious holidays. In this case, children’s books are one of the best ways to introduce your kids to them.

Are you familiar with Hanukkah? Hanukkah is a Jewish holiday celebrated for eight days and nights. It starts on the 25th of the Jewish month of Kislev, which coincides with late November-late December on the secular calendar. And the right children’s books for this religious holiday are Hanukkah Haiku, the Trees of the Dancing Goats, Celebrate Hanukkah, and many more.

Another religious holiday that happens in the winter season is the winter solstice. Winter solstice, also known as Yule is the Pagan celebration that is one of the oldest winter celebrations in the world. This celebration falls on the shortest day of the year (21st December) and was celebrated in Britain long before the arrival of Christianity. And some story books that are right for children are the Winter Solstice, the Story of Holly & Ivy, While the Bear Sleeps.

The most popular religious holiday in this season is Christmas that is celebrated every 25th December. Of course you can find many children’s books associated with Christmas, such as the First Christmas, First Noel, a Christmas Story, etc.

Last but not least is Kwanzaa. This is a unique African American celebration that focuses on the traditional African values of family, community responsibility, commerce, and self-improvement. It is usually celebrated in the day after Christmas, December 26. And the right story books for your kids are My First Kwanzaa Book, the Children’s Book of Kwanzaa: a Guide to Celebrating the Holiday, Seven Spools of Thread: a Kwanzaa Story, and many more.
