39 Clues: Book 1 - The Maze of Bones, Review

The maze of bones is the first book of the 39 clues series. It is written by Rick Riordan.

The Cahill family is a large family and has included some of the most influential people and greatest thinkers of the last 300 years. Apparently the Cahils have a great legacy, that has led these people to greatness.

In the first book we are introduced to Amy and Dan, the main characters of the series. At their grandmothers funeral they are given the choice between 1.000.000 dollars each or the first clue that could lead them to the Cahill family legacy.

Amy and Dan must follow in the footsteps of Benjamin Franklin to find the first clue, and find out what these clues are all about.

The book is very well written, and I felt like reading a Dan Brown book, written for young adults. It is both highly entertaining and informative. I got the book on sale, just wanted to see what the fuss was all about. The book was devoured in no time, and the level of excitement continues during the rest of the books.

The perspective in the book change between the characters, also some of Amy and Dan’s competitors. This doesn’t ruin anything, it actually gives the other characters more depth.

Scholastic has done a great job finding excellent authors for these books! I feel that I can only give this book my highest recommendations!!!

Is The maze of bones is well written and even though English is not my first language, I had no trouble reading it.
