Despite what you may think, we have a global water crisis, and it is happening everywhere. Yes, even here in the United States. By 2050 the United States could have as many as 435 million people in it, and we are already at maximum stress for our current fresh water supplies. Clean water is a necessary for life, and water is one of the most important commodities of any civilization.
If you’ll recall Benjamin Franklin said; “you’ll know the value of water, when the well runs dry.” Perhaps it is for this reason that I recommend that you take the magazine;
“Water World,” Published by PennWell.
You should subscribe to this magazine if you are a heavy business user of water, or if you are in the water supply and distribution industry or sector. This same company also puts out “Industrial Water World” and “Water and Waste Water International,” both excellent publications. And if you are in the industry you can register for the online magazine at no cost. This is a great set of magazines and trade journals for anyone dealing with the challenges in our civilization, or is involved in any capacity in the decision-making for water resources.

Monthly editorial topics include: energy management, biosolids treatment and disposal, chemicals, pipe maintenance and repairs, privatization and contract O&M, stormwater management, computers and automation technology, corrosion control and various show previews of industry events. Monthly columns consist of case studies and featured products and services.”
This set of water information resources definitely lives up to all it claims and more. I not only take this magazine, but I also take their online newsletter, it has been instrumental at our think tank keeping us informed, and it is amazing what you can learn by merely reading a single issue. There are also special issues that come out which are packed with all the vendors in the industry, and the new technologies available.
If you want to learn about desalination, water filtration, reverse osmosis, rainwater collection, hydroelectricity, underground aquifers, better farming techniques, or water conservation you will find it here, and much more. Once again, I highly recommend that you take WaterWorld Magazine if you are involved in this industry. Indeed, I hope you will please consider all this, and think on it. Water in our society and civilization is paramount.
